At the age of 7 I got my first sewing machine. It was a Holly Hobby sewing machine. I created a whole range of clothes for my dolls. I soon moved on and by the age of 12 I was making my own clothes with my Mum's sewing machine. I was that girl at school who was always creating outrageous outfits for the local blue light disco.( It was the 80's after all )
My favourite class at High School was Textiles & Design so I was only fitting that when I left school I completed a Diploma in Textile Technology.
I continued to sew and in 1999, after my second boy was born, I discovered "Patchwork". It was like a light went on in me. I knew that it was for me. From that moment on I have tried to sew every day.(not that I get to..but I try)
2003 saw the arrival of a mid arm quilting machine. I was there....heaven... I started quilting professionally and didn't look back.
In 2006 I was given the chance to teach patchwork and sewing. I jumped at the chance. I am now teaching at two sewing shops, designing my own patterns and in 2010 I purchased a Gammill Long Arm Quilting Machine. I LOVE it. I have been able to let my creative juices run wild.
I live in the beautiful Hunter Valley with my Husband and three crazy boys. We open the door each morning to a mob of kangaroos and the singing of native birds. Our life is good....
Happy Quilting
