Wyong Craft Show

Yesterday was the 4th annual Wyong Quilt Show.It is run as a charity event to raise funds for the Wyong and Gosford Oncology Units. The shop I work at is a big participator. We encorage our customers/students to enter their beautiful creations in the quilt hanging. They can enter to be judged or not.

Lots of other local traders are there showing their wears as well. It's really good to catch up with everyone.

There were lots of great products on offer and the quilt show was impressive once again.

These photos are of our stall. All About Sewing

Some of the new quilt designs on offer included a couple from Monica Poole from Moonshine Designs. They look great and are quick to do, which is good for all those time poor quilters out there.(Me included)

It was a great day. It's exhausting but fun.

Quilt-a-long

I have been doing a quilt a long with other bloggers. It was started by Amanda Jean of Crazy Mom Quilts. The idea is that you do one nine patch a day, and in no time you have enough for a quilt top. The original is done in scrap fabrics but I had a jelly roll of Soiree By Lila Tueller , so I cut it up into 2 1/2 inch pieces ready to go. It is quite addictive though. I couldn't stop at one a day. Although, I don't have time to piece everyday so I guess it works out about even.

Pretty nine patch

Lots of pretty nine patches

I have also cut out baby Layla's quilt. It will be nice to make a pink quilt for someone other than myself for a change. I really can't wait to get started on this. In fact I just might have to do some today. I know Elise can't wait to see it also.

On another subject, the electricians are at our farm today, so things are moving along nicely.

Best go do something constructive

I Need More Time !!!

It's almost half way through the year and I feel as though I have accomplished nothing.
Our barn is not yet finished so I am driving the kids 240kms a day to and from school.
It is about 3 hours driving an day. Precious hour that I could be sewing or tidying the house or something else constructive.
I have just received an order for some uniforms that I make for a dance school in Sydney. I would love to have my sewing space back. Good things come to those who wait, as they say. My new space will be fantastic for an area inside our barn/house. I can't wait. Shouldn't be long now til we are living on our farm.

Some good news, my cousin Elise had a baby girl. Yaaay!! I get to make a pink quilt. I have the fabrics so I will be cutting it out tonight. I have a quilt fair to go to on Sunday and I will be demonstrating some sewing machines. I will use the time to get started on the pink quilt.

Best go now and will post some photos soon of all the things I've been doing.

Cheers
